  • All Good Food Must Come To An End


    Well folks, this was a short life for the Community Cookbook.  I didn't realize at the time I started this site that there was already a similar (sort of) site called IReallyLikeFood.  I'm just now getting started with my own business and will be pretty busy trying to get it going so right now, that's my first priority.  I appreciate those who have participated in sending recipes to link, and am sorry that this never really got off the ground.  If anyone would like to take over just let me know, otherwise I'll go ahead and delete the account after a month or so.  Thanks again for everything, and I wish you all the best!

  • New Theme: Beefy Best


    This theme is a week late, and I apologize for that. Been busy looking into some new business opportunities.  Has anyone had a chance to try any of the recipes that were posted? If so, don't forget to vote for your favorites; you can message them to me or post them in the comments.

    The new theme for the next week or so is Beefy Best: post or send in your favorite beef dishes, anything from steaks, roasts, and stews, etc., to anything using ground beef.  Use your imagination and create your most delicious meal or just share one of your favorite recipes.  Don't forget to spread the word around so we can get more recipes to post!

  • Easy One-Pot Meals


    Only had five entries for the last category of Sweet Sensations so I'm hoping to get more responses for the next two weeks.  Since school is starting up, people are pretty busy getting things together for their kids as well as doing a lot of running around, and I'm sure many would appreciate some quick and easy meals to make.  So, for the next two weeks the theme will be Easy One-Pot Meals.  Do you have a favorite casserole you'd like to share or some other meal that is super easy to throw together?  Post the recipe on your site and send me the link, and I'll post it here.  Let all of your friends know so that we can compile a good list of recipes right here in one spot without having to search all over Xanga!

  • Community Cookbook's First Theme: Sweet Sensations


    I've decided to change the theme or category to every two weeks instead of every week to give people more time to decide on a recipe.

    Hi, welcome to the Community Cookbook, a place for Xanga users to gather together and share some of their favorite recipes.  Got a favorite original dish or a recipe you've seen somewhere else, but have tweaked to make it your own?  Every two weeks there will be a different theme or catagory for a recipe.  So get ready for the big recipe scavenger hunt!  Just post your favorite recipe for the current theme or category onto your Xanga site, then send me a link and I'll post it here (photos of your finished creation would be a wonderful bonus)!  Feel free to post as many recipes as you'd like as long as it fits the theme or category.  Other Xangans will have a whole month to try out some of these delicious recipes, and on the last day of the month they can vote for their favorites.

    Ok, are you ready?  The first theme is (drumroll):  "Sweet Sensations."  This can be anything from desserts, whether it's pies, cakes, cookies, candies, and other sweet delights; to any meal or side dish that has a sweet sensation to the palate.  You've got two weeks to come up with one or more of your favorite sweet recipes to share.
